Bulging water ?4-5cm 90% effaced -1

posted 3rd Oct
I've been 3cm/80%/-2 for 2 weeks now, at appt yesterday she said my water sack was "bulging" and I'm not 4-5cm, 90% and -2. I'm now 37w4d.. she said it could be within 48 hours, but I'm worried it might take longer? It feels as if something is lodged in my vagina lol, so I knew something was up but I didn't expect a bulging bag.. my mother had to have her waters broken, does this mean my water won't break?

Can someone give me some idea what to expect, I've been walking and will continue to do so, in my situation they said I'd never make it to 40 weeks (unrelated to this) and I'm hoping the 48 hr prediction holds true?

Opinions?

Thanks in advance!

I was that way for two weeks... it could be five minutes from now or you could go to your due date. No one really knows because every woman and every pregnancy is different. Good luck.

Not to scare you, but I was more dilated than you, and was that way for 31 days. They had to breaK my water for me. My labor stalled and I tried everything to get him out and NOTHING worked. They also told me I wouldn't make it another week. I made it 4.5!

Well I've been a 3 for 2 weeks, only making it to a "between 4 and 5" within the past week. I had my bloody show 2 weeks ago, I just also had black clumps of plug come out this morning, and the OB "Stretched" me to 5 she said, I had a contraction while she checked me and she said I'd likely go within 48hours... :\

I really hope she's right!!

I was 4 cm and 75% effaced fora month and tgen 5cm and 100% for another two weeks. I had contractions 10-20 minutes apart the whole time and kept losing plug. Like I said. Everyone is different. I went into full blown labor and stalled at 7cm with my bag of water still intact. They had to break it to start labor back up and she was born less than two hours later. When labor finally happens, it will go fast since youre almost to the transition point. So be ready to go straight to the hospital when the contractions are 5 minutes or less apart. My contractions immediately hit 2 minutes apart the night full blown labor hit.

This. But I was 6 cm for 31 days. No pitocin worked. My water had to be broken, but all hell broke loose very quickly and I had him shortly after.

At 37 weeks I was 3cm 50% and waters were bulging, at 38 weeks I was 4cm 70% and waters were still bulging, and the day before I had her at 39 weeks, I was 4cm 90% and waters were ready to burst. Had her the next morning after 4 hrs of labor...
My doctor broke my water (per my request) and she flew out. lol So basically I hung around like that for two weeks.

I'm betting you will have a fairly smooth labor! My dr told me the more you dilate beforehand generally makes for a quick delivery. My friend just had a baby two weeks ago and was dilated 4-5 cm and had a two hour labor. lol Best of luck to you mama!
