Hyperthyroidism

posted 3rd Oct
I have a question for mamma's who have or had hyperthyroidism.
Right now I am on Anti thyroid medication until I have surgery( not sure when the surgery is yet, I see my surgeon on the 10th.). My question though is, did you easily get pregnant on medication? All I know is I have hyperthyroidism, my thyroid levels were 69  when I got them checked last, I get them checked again in a couple weeks as I have just started the medication. I guess my other question is, did you get a period once on medication or had surgery?

Yes once I had my total thyroid-ectomy in April of '06 I started Synthroid and birth control to help get my cycles started and normal. In November '06 I stopped taking the pill and we officially started trying in Feb '07. Got pregnant in April '07 had a healthy baby on Jan 3rd '08.

I've been able to get pregnant 3 more times since.

did you feel better quickly after surgery? I'm on .250 of synthroid   I see my internal med dr soon I wanted to talk about just taking it out.

No I haven't felt good/normal since 2001 when it all started. I am hypo but still have graves disease antibodies and my levels have never stabilized to the point of not needing to change medication dosages except when I was pregnant with DS#1
I'm currently on 200mcg which isn't my highest but I'm feeling normal for me I guess.

Do you have the rapid heart beat and tremors muscle pain???

Sorry I just feel really alone in this health problem right now, and it scares me.
