Contractions (with chart pic). Think I should go in?
posted 3rd Oct
Here's my contraction chart.... Kindof complicated. To me, at least, it is. The numbers on the bottom are the amount of contractions at that duration, and at that distance apart. They're getting pretty bad.... I'm fairly confident this is labor, I'm 41 weeks, and the reason I'm hesitant is because I'm an hour away from the hospital and the OB on call told me if I wasn't dilated they'd probably just send me home.
I called to ask if painful contractions every 5-10 min means I should come in, but apparently that really means I'm asking if she can tell me if I'm in labor, and apparently I'm not in labor if I haven't had bleeding or a gush of water...?! :/
Anyway, with being an hour (to 2 hours, depending!) away AND having an induction already scheduled for Thursday, do you think I should go in? We barely have enough gas for one trip, let alone two if I get sent home... Also, all of these were in an hour and a half span.

I have never gone into labor naturally. I would say painful contractions 5 minutes apart, 2nd baby, hospital 1 to 2 hours away, over due...I would not risk it and go in!

Just because your not bleeding or gushing out water doesnt mean your not in labor i would walk for a hour if they are still painful i would go in im pretty sure your in labor my dear try some walking so you can dialate and they wont send you home good luck

I suggest you go in. My first labor my waters broke first, then 17 hours later my daughter was born. My 2nd labor on the other hand, i was in hospital for 11 hours with just contractions, then my waters broke, and half hour later my son was born.
I dont care what the hospital says, when you live that far away from the hospital, and its your 2nd baby, i wouldnt risk it

I agree.... with my first child my water broke first but I never had a gush or bleeding and 15 hours later she was here.. With my second i was in the hossy all day with just contractions and slow dialation when they finally had to break my water and within a hour she was here. So it varies with each child. I would definitely recommend that you go in. Especially being that far away from the hossy. Good luck and KUP.
