Medicaid doesn't cover my medicine?

I got a prescription of Protonix (believe that's what it's called) for heartburn.

Walmart proceeded to tell me that they had to fax my doctor. My doctor has to do something with paperwork to Medicaid.....But wouldn't it just be easier to prescribe something else that IS covered?

Ask for the generic, pantoprazole.

Same here. It does not pay for it for me either... It will cost $98 a month for it out of pocket and that is for the off brand....I have to worst heartburn ever!

if your insurance doesnt cover it,then try Zantac 150 mg.its OTC and i buy the walmart brand for like 4 bucks...take it twice aday..i have horrible heartburn with my pregnancies and this works really well and its safe during pregnancy and you dont have to wait on a scrip

That's what I tried before. It literally did nothing for me. It did for the first...two days maybe? But after that, nothing!

Same here! I'm still fighting with it. Every day all day long I have heartburn. It even wakes me up like every hour at night. I hope it gets better for you!

have the dr fax it for you then you can get what you need.
