The Radian RXT is steel reinforced as well, but RF to 45lbs and FF to 80lbs and boosters to 120lbs for only $30 more.

My parentals purchased it, not me. And I freaked that they even spent as much as they did. I wasn't trying to push them to look at the next step up.

This is the exact one I was thinking of going for! Either the yellowish one or the green one!

We have a diono radian for dude, and i love it.

BUT we got an infant seat because i was worried about proper fit with a newb and decided i wanted the convenience of a seat i could take out of the car and such, and I'm glad that i did. I tried smalls in there, and the straps didn't get snug enough. And he wasn't tiny.

We have a combi shuttle 33, and i think it's wonderful!

This may be a dumb question but does it sit upright or arch back? The convertible car seats remind me of my son's first "big boy" seat.

I just read a couple of articles on this seat that gave super high recommendations and ratings!

I have this exact seat. carseatblog rates it as "carseat nirvana" and says that it almost ruins you when having to graduate from the infant seat. i'd post a link, but I am on my phone. I check carseatblog for everything. this is the best seat. hands down.

but, imo, I wouldn't get a travel system/stroller. we invested in a better stroller for terrain and jogging, etc. BOB stroller. which I am also obsessed with, and I know you'd use your stroller for fitness, kristin.

sunshine kids/diono radian is my 100% vote for a convertible after the infant, *cough* chicco keyfit, seat.

diono radians are great for taller height and high weight limits. some of their new seats have a 10 year expiration.

I had the Chico keyfit 30 in red for JoJo. My sister had it first, they hardly used it since they never took Kaden out of the house, so once they gave it to me it was pretty much brand new. I loved it! But then once JoJo grew out of it I took it back to their old house and now my mom thinks my dad got rid of it. It was a great car seat although the one thing I can say that's somewhat negative about it was it was realllly heavy. But even now as I'm doing research it's still one of the top rated car seats. I'm thinking maybe I should just get the same seat again for her! It also came with a matching stroller but I gave it back to my parents and they don't have it anymore =/

But you're right about the strollers, I definitely would appreciate something that's better for speed walking/jogging. I could only go so fast with the red one until the wheels started wobbling so it was pretty bad for working out. I have a 3 wheel stroller for JoJo that I take on our runs and I love it (not even sure what brand it is though. My parents got it when they went on a trip last year with Kaden, used it a couple of times and gave it to me) but I don't think it's meant for infants/babies. Thanks for the info, I think I'll look into the BOB strollers!
