I think my stitches busted

posted 2nd Oct
Today SO just playfully gave me a slap on the butt like he always does and I think it ripped my stitches. He didn't even get my butt, it was more under. It hurt so bad. But it was a total accident and he looked like he was going to cry!

I was walking around and I have felt no pain in my stitches area up until this point. I looked with a mirror and bright light and it looks like my stitches busted a little bit. And now it burns that cut where I tore and am stitched up a bit when I pee. It hasn't burned at all, not even the first night.

There was this small piece of stitch that was poking my labia and it was hurting so I trimmed it a bit. Idk what it's supposed to look like so I'm not 100% sure. It's uncomfortable but not unbearable. Up until this point I was starting to feel tons better.

Idk what I'm supposed to do. I called the triage at my ob office and they wont return until the next day.. I'm nervous, uncomfortable, and the area is kind of swollen. Cool.

I'd call the L&D floor, they told me if I had any questions or concerns about baby or myself in the healing process, to call.

If your OB won't get you in tomorrow, I'd head to the ER. You're VERY susceptible to infection at this point.

I'm 5 days PP. I'm bleeding but it doesn't seem like it's from that area. Just normal flow.

I would call L&D and see what they say.

They normally use dissolvable stitches. I only got 2 stitches with my middle baby, but one broke fairly early on. The strings took forever to fall out. Nothing annoyed me more than those stitches. Obviously best bet would be to talk to your dr because they know how badly you tore, etc. For me it wasn't a big deal. It was irritating, but everything healed fine.
