Why would an ominpotent deity be cursed with human emotion? Especially emotions that Christianity seems to place on the devil like jealousy, disappointment, and possession? If hes was so determined to.have us worship him he could simply force it on us ... The idea that he gave us free will simply so that we could choose to love him is ridiculous and I would rather not worship such a petty and attention hungry entity.

We know He is a "he" because the Lords Prayer is addressed to "Our Father" and Jesus refers to Him as "My Father".

Does God hate anyone? The answer is yes.

Psalm 5:5, "The boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou dost hate all who do iniquity,"

Psalm 11:5, "The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates."

Lev. 20:23, "Moreover, you shall not follow the customs of the nation which I shall drive out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have abhorred them."

Prov. 6:16-19, "There are six things which the Lord hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, 19 A false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers."

Hosea 9:15, "All their evil is at Gilgal; indeed, I came to hate them there! Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of My house! I will love them no more; All their princes are rebels."

Well, the God I believe in. is a loving God. He hates no one.

Words get changed in translation.... also, those are all from the OT... God was portrayed as a a real jerk in the OT. God was to be feared, not loved. It wasn't until Christ came that God is revealed to be a loving and kind God.

Excuse me?????????????/ I never said God was evil ... I never even implied that God was evil. I was questioning the logic of human thinking about how involved their God was in their lives. I have never belittled anyone for their beliefs when it comes to religion rather I question logical thinking.
Or maybe you forgot that I've been going through a crisis of faith lately where I've been considering turning back to the Christian God and I'm actually thinking about all the facets of such.

The OT God was still GOD. Never changing, that's what He is.

Portrayed... he is portrayed differently in OT. I never said he was a different God.

In those times people were supposed to fear power and authority, not love or feel loved by it. So God is portrayed as something to be feared.

I don't know for sure, but that's what I believe. That's how I was raised and I choose to continue to believe it. No one knows anything about our existence for a fact, it's all up in the air.

...and He is STILL to be feared.

The way He was "portrayed" is His true character.

The Bible references a never changing God many times. He is immutable.

Even I use the word he but only as a figure of speech. God does not have a gender

I don't think you can really say He is cursed with human emotion, as it says that we were made in His image. So I think WE are cursed with His emotions because God came first and he displayed all those emotions before he created us. Just in my opinion. He could force us to do a lot but He doesn't because He loves us unconditionally enough to let us live a life that we choose. Even though it kind of back fires sometimes.
