Surgeries & Breastfeeding? Anyone?
posted 2nd Oct
A co-worker told me that after her SIL had surgery with anesthesia her milk supply dried up and that I should be concerned about it....
Is that a load of crap?
Also... my pediatrician's assistant told me I had to wait 24 hours to breastfeed after anesthesia- but all the information I'm finding online says it's fine. Does anyone have experience with this?

I had surgery on my right breast to drain a big abscess from mastitis, and I had to wait 24 hours after anesthesia to continue breast feeding.

Pretty sure I'd listen to the pa before strangers on bg. U could pump to keep up supply if Ur worried about it.

You're LO might become tired after breastfeeding from you with all the meds that are in you. Thats a given, everything you intake you give out in breastmilk.
