I will be heading to the hospital to be induced and I'm sooo nervous. Anyone have any advice or want to share their experiences? I had my DS at 38 weeks, extremely short labor, so I've never been induced. I heard it can take longer. Any 2nd time moms with any insight on this? TIA I can't wait!!

Why are you being induced? If it's not for health issues I would turn it down and wait. I was told I had health problems and needed to be induced and was basically bullied into it by my doctor.

I was in labor for over a week prior, ended up being in the hospital for 29 hours and on pitocin for 25. I still had to have a C-Section because I never dilated past 2cm despite all of that.

I will never again agree to an induction.

With my first I was 39 weeks and went in thinking my water broke and it didnt but the contractions were constant enough that they induced me and let me have him. the labor took 12 hours with 30 min of pushing. was numb the whole time from the epideral so I didnt feel anything. With my second I was also induced and was 40 weeks and 3 days and was having contractios. I went in at 1:30 when they induced me and at 7:30 got the epideral at 8:30 my water broke and was stuck at a 2 then by 9:30 they checked me again and i was ready to push. I pushed 5 times and my daughter was here with no tearing. I was in labor for maybe 8 hours and not even 5 min of pushing and she was here.
Being induced could take longer or in my case the labor could be alot shorter it all depends

thank you very much. The cardiologist said there are 2 possibilities; it will go away when I give birth or it will get alot worse and I'll need to be on medication. I should be now but the medicine would also effect my little girls heart and I obviously don't want to take that chnce

My induction went about as smooth as possible. I was already 8 days late and 4 cm dilated though. But I labored for 5 hours and pushed for 20 minutes. Then delivered a healthy 8 lb 7 oz baby boy. GL OP

My induction went great. They put in the cervadil at 6pm and left it in for 12 hours. They took it out and there was barely any change from when I was admitted so they gave me a few hours before they would start the pitocin. A little after 9am they broke my water and within an hour and a half I was fully dilated. I pushed for a half hour exactly and DD was born completely healthy. Best of luck with your induction! Also some advice, eat before you go to the hospital! I had no idea they wouldn't let me eat and I ended up going about 24 hours without any food, it sucked.
