High Blood Pressure After Giving Birth

posted 2nd Oct
I had my son 2 weeks ago ( he was stillborn). My blood pressure got kinda high during labor but I thought it went back to normal before I left the hospital. I had a checkup with my doctor today and it's still high. I go back in a week to have it rechecked. Is this normal? I don't have a history of having high blood pressure and didn't have it during pregnancy. My doctor said it should have went down by now.

I'm sorry for one. For two, do you think it could be high from being stressed? I would asume your a little frazzled. *hugs*

Thank you. I'm not sure but I hope it returns to normal and I don't have to start medication.

I hear you completely on the whole medication. I had an under-lying disease I never knew about until I delivered my oldest at 34 weeks and when she was 5 months old, I found out I had a rare kidney disease. I've had two surgeries to correct the blockage in my main artery. Ugh. Not fun. I hope you heal from your pain and loss - and again, I'm so sorry! <3

Im in the same boat, my bp jumped after delivery and im 8weeks pp, its very serious if u get sever headachs or see spots go to the er! Or upper abdominal pain.... I had to be hospitalized for a week and on meds for two, i hated it and my bp is going down but still prehypertenstion stage. Im only 23! Read my post. But u should deff monitor ur bp. I have postpartum preeclampsia.. Protein in urine is the diffreence and some people dont get it untill after 6 weeks pp. Do some reasearch! People who dont know they have it often have seziures and comas. Very serious!! Dont take high bp lightley!! My bp was 210/115 one week pp.
