I've never made chili before, but I'm gonna try it tomorrow. I adapted this recipe slightly from one I found that was supposed to be a copycat for Wendy's chili, which DH loves. Does it sound good?
(as a side note, the reason the pork sausage is in there is because it is SOOO good and I need to use it before it goes bad lol)
1.5 lb ground beef
.5 lb ground pork sausage
29-ounce can tomato sauce
29-ounce can kidney beans
29-ounce can pinto bean
1 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced anaheim pepper
1/4 cup diced celery
3 medium tomatoes, chopped
2 cups water
cumin, chili powder, pepper, salt to season
So if any of you are experienced in the chili making, have any suggestions? Something to add or change?
<blockquote><b>Quoting Chuck Bass:</b>" I'm glad it sounds good! I wish I'd thought about getting more veggies when we were at the store lol ... [snip!] ... are important. I'll be dicing the celery up really small bc he swears he doesn't like it but I cook with it ALL the time lol"</blockquote>
You can always change up the beans to any you like I use three types of beans in mine
