I wouldn't even bother if it's going to be say 3 months. maybe make sure she stays on top of reading and age level math. that's it. Consider it summer break.

I considered that but I would feel kind of odd not doing anything with her. So maybe just a couple hours of "school" in the morning to keep her on top of things and then go about the regular day?

That's what I think too, but I was thinking about our options if she's going to be here for a while. Since we won't know when she gets here, I wanted to cover all the bases.

I'd homeschool. you can cater to what she may not know, AND help her stay ahead of the curve in what she does know. Out here homeschooling requires 4.5 hours of educational time so it's not horrible. I actually plan on homeschooling DD because the school ratings here suck

I was going to use it as a sort of trial run if that's what we decided on (which I'm pretty sure it is, but I wanted feedback from other mamas) because I want to homeschool my kiddos when they reach school age as well.
