The nipples are to help reduce the amount of air baby swallows and helps reduce colic...my daughter was pretty colic and used to spit up a lot and was super gassy. With these bottles/nipples, all of that is gone and/or reduced a ton.   We love them lol.

I can't link it because I'm on my phone...but I seriously love this bottle. DD only gets bottles on rare occasions though.

I tried Avent, Tommee Tippee and regular Medela nipples and none of them worked. She didn't like any.

Yeah, we have the animal print sippy cups, but I have boys. lol. I asked SO if they looked too girly & he said they didn't. It was wo easy to go from the bottles to sippy cups, since they were the same kind. All my Dr. Browns friend's babies are still on bottles & they're all older than my boys, who are 15 months.!
