Now What??

My husband filed for full custody of his 6 year old son. Because I was a third party to the case legally I was ok to serve the mother the papers. She threw them away and walked off. Well she had 30 days to contest and friday will be the last day. My question is what is the next step?. Can he go and take his son from school? Does a sheriff need to go with him. After friday how long until my husband will actually be granted full custody?

Don't you have to actually go to court and the judge rules on that? I know that's what I am currently doing with my son

Yea. I believe your husband will be served papers and then go in front of the judge and be granted custody. Good luck to you all!!

I am pretty positive when someone files for full custody they automatically make a court date and the date is sent out to each party which the court date is actually 2 to 3 months away unless its extremely serious

Its so hard waiting. She is a horrible mom! I am just worried she will find some way to get out of this after friday.

Ugggh. I completely understand. My BIL was weeks awa from getting full custody of his children and the stupid (bad word) got out of it. She was also able to modify the custody arrangement after eight freaking years!
