This is awesome to hear! I'll keep my weekly appts up in hopes I have the same luck. My Son was only 8, 4 but his head and chest was 15 inches. I pushed for nearly 3 hours and suffered a 3rd degree laceration   ...and he was also face presentation so that likely had a lot to do with all that to.

2 things ...
1. the U/S estimates can be off by up to 2 lbs. I get U/S every 2 weeks and then once a week because I'm high risk. They were off by 2 lbs for both my middle baby and my youngest.
2. Sunny side up (face up) babies are a lot harder to push out. My first was sunny side up and his head got wedged in there. I ended up with an emergency c-section. My second baby (he was a vbac) was in the right position and he literally glided right out of there. I barely pushed ..maybe once or twice.. and didn't tear at all either.

There's no reason you couldn't go into labor tomorrow if your body decided it was time. Dilation doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Ultra sounds can be WAY off. They tried to tell me that my first was going to be 9 to 10lbs and that I was probably going to have a section because I had been in labor for 20 hours. I told them to smurf off and sure enough 5 hours later she was born vaginally with minor tearing and she was only 7lbs 14oz.
You're not even at your due date.   Tell them to hold the smurf on. And if it comes down to it ask them to strip your membranes.

They can't strip your membranes unless you're dilated.

Erin--a chrio, really? I have never heard of that helping before....

Melissa83--WOW that's more off that I've heard before! Don't they realize how off that could be!!! I mean, I have had an u/s to check his weight every other week for like 2 months and their estimates are consistent, but they could still be off!

Jen--Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to have to stand my ground I guess, it's just really hard for me. I've heard the pineapple thing too, I'd forgotten that. And I will consider a section at some point I guess (I'm assuming I haven't even made enough progress for them to consider induction since the tearing is a concern), but I really don't agree with it prior to my due date, you know? She planned to strip my membranes but said she can't because it's so high/closed/posterior I guess.

Ames--See that's what I don't understand either! They induced me with my first at just over 40 weeks and no dialation that I know of--just like 75% effaced. So why no talk of induction now?

JJ & Steven--Raspberry tea pills, not drinkable tea? Is there a difference? Is it too late to try that?

Buffy--I had to push to drop my first too, and this one hasn't dropped either!

EVERYONE--thank you for your support and input. I'll stand my ground and pray for progress soon!!!

You can do the tea. The pills were just easier for me. I don't think it's too late at all!!

Yeah when I came in, there was a big pregnant lady next to me lol Apparently its a common thing to try if you have a little bit of money for it. When I went, I was charged 40$. Not bad. Not sure about anywhere else though.

They might or a health store if you have one around. Also try the EPO, I inserted mine the last week directly down there. Before that I did them orally. They help with conceiving and help with labor!

The contractions can help naturally push them down without having to push for 3 hours
