I asked Novali to bring me a cookie, please.... she just brought me in a celery stick and a carrot...   "Eat HEALTHY"...

I hate my Spawn.... but seriously it's like having a personal trainer!

I don't think there's anything wrong with loving the body you have. Be it super thin, average, overweight, etc. But that's mental health.

Working out "hard" enough is good for physical health.
if you can't feel the burn working out, then youre not pushing yourself to the point of effectiveness alot of times.

I feel pain after a workout. And I love it. I feel accomplished. And I definitely don't push myself TOO hard

Most people stop before they feel the "real burn" because they are afraid of pushing too hard... I like working out till I wanna throw myself onto the ground and orgasm! lmao

I miss working out.

<blockquote><b>Quoting Devil's Advocate:</b>" If I was content with my body, I would not have any reason to want to be healthier. What would it matter?"</blockquote>

I think it does, to an extent.
I'm not content, but I do love my body, for all it can do. I respect it enough to try to improve my health.

The mental aspect of self-acceptance of the body is important. Because if, mentally, youre unhappy with yourself, who's to say that will change upon losing weight?

Self acceptance is necessary, IMO, to have the drive to better yourself. At least for me. Once I got into the mindset of "okay, even if I don't lose weight as quickly as I want, or reach my goals when I want, at least I will still be happy with myself", I started trying alot harder.

honest to God, Jillian Michaels is like, one of my biggest motivators. Because she doesn't smurf around. When I'm working out, if I want to stop, i'm like "Jillian would kick my ass"

When doing the 30DS, I NEED that push and motivation, because alot of times I can't give myself that motivation without help.

And you can still work out! Just...like..on a treadmill

I wish my kids did that.
DS, yesterday, was like, "here Momma, have some of my chips before we go in the store"
Other day he asked me if I was having another baby
I am NOT that big, the little smurf

lmao Cute!

Well, Novali is overweight so we have been enforcing "eat healthy foods" instead of cookies and candies and stuff... I guess I better start practicing what I preach, eh?

It's fun for her..... we've turned it into a game on who can pick healthy foods and stuff.... she also gets treats, though, but not as often.

Quoting Devil's Advocate:" So at what point to do you reach the point of accepting your horrible fate enough to move on to the next phase of being healthy?"

My horrible fate? You know how I'm going to die? Are you a psychic or something? Is this conversation going to cost me $3.99 a minute? lol

The point is not to come to some horrendous place where you are certain and fearful of death. The point is to love and accept yourself as you are, without qualifiers. To realize that nothing you have done or are doing is enough to exclude you from humanity and the basic tenets of respect.

Self-acceptance is not complacency. It is a place where you can look at yourself, at your strengths and weaknesses, and accept who you are at face value. Self-acceptance is the foundation on which change occurs.

You find self-acceptance. You realize the things about yourself that you love and the things about yourself that you aren't so fond of. In a place of self-acceptance you can lovingly usher in the change that you want because you feel that you are worth it... and the change comes out of a love and respect for who you are and who you would like to become.

Quoting Devil's Advocate:" It seems like the only type of health you care for is loving the body you have created. I work out and ... [snip!] ... and eat healthy because it makes me happy and because I love myself and my family enough to want to live a long and happy life."

You would be wrong in this assumption. I have a long history that details why I have the body I have. It involves physical complications, disordered eating, and self-loathing. I am actually doing things to improve my health... imagine that. I eat way healthier than I ever have in my life (and let's remember that I have a significantly limited diet anyway due to allegies and sensitivites). I too want to live a long and happy life. Hating my body will not get me to where I want to be.

You know how hard it is to go out in public to exercise if you feel ashamed of your body? Especially when people tell you to be ashamed of it openly... while you are in the process of working out? Or when you are enacting a nutrition plan set forth by a doctor still to have the cashier question your choices? So when I order my coffee, I don't need to hear "Have you seen the nutrition label on that?!?!? Are you on some kind of diet?" as if I owed an explanation to anyone. I'm not supposed to have milk, but I can have heavy whipping cream.. something with the protein components.... but do I really have to explain myself? Being mooed at when your walking down the street.... Random ugly comments and points and giggles when I'm shopping... And it pisses me off that people judge me when I do go out to eat (because let me tell you there isn't a whole hell of a lot I can eat on the fly).

It takes a hell of a lot of self-acceptance to brush off the haters and to keep on keeping on. That's why I do what I do. People need to know that their bodies are theirs and they have only one life to live and they don't have to live a life of torment and self-hatred. They owe nothing to no one, especially not an aesthetic appearance. People need to do what they do because they want to do it.... not because they are being guilted and shamed by a society that tells them they need to lash out and abuse their bodies in order to obtain some unrealistic ideal. Especially when diet regimes only have a 2-5% success rate because the body is designed to protect against shortages (It's a complicated system and I'm not going to detail it here).

Quoting Rumpelstiltskin:" First, there is no where in the OP talking about numbers... no where... no one is talking about weight, ... [snip!] ... to starve and hurt yourself than it is to be healthy. More motivation is needed for being fit than for being fat or skinny. "

Once again, acceptance is not complacency.

Have I told you lately how much I love you? lol
