If you got stitches (vaginal birth)

posted 2nd Oct
If you tore and had to get stitches, how long did it take you to recover? I am 8 days PP and the pain has gotten seriously worse, I thought maybe I was overdoing it. But rested yesterday and its still wore today. My doula wants me to basically be on bed rest right now. I am seriously overwhelmed. I guess I just wanted to know how normal is my recovery. When did you start feeling better.

It honestly took me like 2 weeks to start feeling better. I was super sore

I was still extremely sore for three weeks.

My midwife said I wasn't completely healed at six weeks, but then again, I probably wasn't taking it as easy as I should have been.

I feel so defeated, I wasn't feeling horrible, but its getting worse. I have to take care of my 3 year old, and get her to and from school. And I am a full time student. I just feel so frustrated and sad right now.

I was about 2 months until there was no pain when I sat or was standing for a while. It was probably about 2 weeks of really bad pain.

About three weeks. But I had an episiotomy with my first. It still hurt at times after that but it wasn't super sore all the time like it was.

Well, with K I had 163 stitches....so it took a long time to really feel "normal" again.

With M I had like 13 stitches, and it took like 3 weeks or so. I hope you feel more comfortable soon.

It was about 2 months until I completely healed. I only got like 1 or 2 stitches, but I was in so much pain. My OB said I got what she described as "road burn" (which wasn't stitched) and that's why it hurt so bad

Im really surprised!!! I had a 4th degree episiotomy. I had a TON of stitches and never had any real pain from it.

I highly recommend this numbing spray.

It took at least a couple weeks for the intense pain to go away and then another month or two for it to completely subside. it sucked!

Mine were hole to hole, so I didn't feel better until about 6-7 weeks after, and the scar still kills when I have sex.

I know right? I had my son almost 4 years ago. I slit my junk open with a razor shaving the other day, and immediately ran out to buy this! lol
