I managed cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant but my partner had a harder time than me, he used patches and managed ok. I'd also find something you can do everytime you want one to keep yourself busy, we used to go and smoke whenever adverts were on so I started going to make a cup of tea instead to keep my mind off it.

I was a fairly heavy smoker.....but as soon as i found out i was pregnant, it was like a switch went off in my brain and i didnt want them anymore....but i knew u werent supposed to go cold turkey so i took 2 days to quit...for me it was easy, but for my mom it was hard....she used minty flavored chewing gum and breath mints quite a bit, those helped alot....she was always chewing gum and using things like stress balls or playdough(her older grandaughter is around alot) to keep her hands busy! Hope that helps!

My morning sickness is what got me to quit twice out of 3 pregnancies. I could not quit with my middle dd.

My oldest I quit the day I found out, I also quit smoking weed that day too.

My middle I just couldnt quit I smoked a pack a day I craved it so bad and every smoke I had mad he throw up.

My lo now 8 months I quit right away as well IDK.......I could with the 2 and not 3.

Its weird I think about it all the time about the fact that I quit with my oldest and youngest and they both had complications and lost of medical conditions, but I smoked like a chimney with my middle dd and she is 100% healthy, I dont get it, its backwards. I know thats not the reason why or anything I just find it odd.

Well good luck. Try sipping water everytime you want a smoke or chewing gum, doing light excercise or something to keep your mind off of it.

I had a hard time quiting with my last two pregnancies I kept trying to ween myself off slowly but it never seemed to work. The best thing to do is just pick a day and just try not to smoke at all once you get thru 2-3 days its alot easier. Alot of goodluck for you I know how hard it is. Just try to replace the habits with something else I think alot of the smoking for me was ritual. Wake up smoke after eating smoke see smoking smoke lol Just try as hard as you can!

With my first pregnancy I quit cold turkey, but I got an "E-hooka". I dont know if they have one where your at, or something similar. It is like an electric cig, only it is just flavored vapor. There is no smoke, no nicotine, and no tar, so it's safe for pregnancy. It helps with the habit, but you will still have withdrawls. Unfortunately I never found anything to help with that. With this one it was much easier to quit cold turkey, because I had only been smoking for 6 months when I found I was am pregnant again lol. Good luck. I know its hard and it sucks, but it is totally worth it all the way around. You'll be amazed at how much money you save also.

I had my last cigarette the night before my BFP. The next morning (when I tested) I got my BFP and I didn't go smoke my morning cigarette. The first 4-6 days were hard. I thought about a cigarette all the time. But I just distracted myself and kept busy, soon the craving was gone. Now I don't even think about smoking anymore. DH still smokes. He says he's trying to quit but whenever I go outside to talk to him when he smokes, I can't stand the smell. What helped me quit was thinking about my baby every time that I craved one. I love my baby more than a cigarette.

You can do it girl! Start tomorrow. Have like 5, then 4 the next day, then 3 and so on until you're down to none.   Good luck!!

that's how I quit, also
seemed much easier, because i knew i'd still smoke my next cigarette, just had to wait a while

before I knew it, i was down to 1 per day
and then, all i had to do was not smoke that one
and i haven't smoked since

My mother in law eats altoids. She eats about 3-4 cans of them a day lol. it helped her and her breath never smells bad.
But for me.. i quit as soon as i found out i was pregnant. But whenever i got mad i would smoke.. And i dont smoke cigarettes i smoke black and milds which would make me feel terrible. i felt like my lil girls in there just choking. I quit, or atleast i thought i did until something would make me really upset again. But now i stopped because i would look at things on the internet that would scare me half to death and i didnt want to hurt my little girl
