Stretch & Sweep

Had the stretch and sweep today, had slight cramps and got backache.

I just want to know.. When the women did it she said the neck of my womb was good enough to to a good stretch and sweep, what does that mean? That it's softened?

Not really sure about the "stretch" part. Ive had my membrains stripped w both of my kids. Theres a chance that it may help get your labor started. It never worked for me! Maybe because theyre cramming their hand up there its stretching too! lol Im no sure!

i think its the same thing  i just wanted to know about when she said the neck of my womb was good enough to do a good stretch and sweep..:/

I think for them to be able to do it you have to be dilated already!

Yep just means that you are starting to dilate, they can't do a sweep if you aren't dilated any. Hope it works for you!

if your late and want to go in labor some myths are riding down a bumpy road in the back of a truck haven sex supposedly helps you go into labor and castor oil will diff. throw you into labor and once you go into labor stimulating your nipples will make your contractions come more.

castor oil will not put you in labor! it a huge no no. and may cause distress in the baby and cause him/her to have its first bowel movement in the womb. not a good idea, plus it will only give you the runs. it causes contractions in the intestines which can cause your uterus to contract, but uselly doesnt work and leads to dehydration and more issues then are needed. that is bad advise!

I dont have any castor oil anyways, just hoping this stretch and sweep will work! im still having tiny cramps now and then, and still got the backache.. hope this is agood sign!

it sent me into slow long labour but it worked   xxx

I don't have a birthing ball :\ its raining here   and the partner is at work lol..

ye i had the sweep on the thursday afternoon and it worked late that night but didnt have her till sunday morning and i was on and off with contractions x

Oh thats not bad then   had pains yesterday but gone now :\ .. well got backache abit today but thats it hoping i go in labour before the 10th otherwise ill be induced   x
