She has no excuse. I have a special needs child and still work and support both my kids. If she has all those problems with her then she should be able to get SSI and help.

I have a case open right now. It's not as easy as saying "I'm disabled." and them clicking a button and printing you a check.

I know this. I just said I have a special needs child. I am dealing with the same thing, but your "conditions" just didn't all pop up over night.

I had a health issue come up that exacerbated them to an extreme degree. I've been in pain and dealt with mental health issues all of my life, but it wasn't until after DD came that I had days where I was bedridden.

Seriously, you can ask me anything about it. I'm not ashamed of it, and I won't let anyone guilt trip me about not financially supporting her.

It's not about the money when it comes to BD. It's the fact that he's done literally nothing for her. He helped make this baby, he's going to do something for her.

I am bipolar. Doesn't stop me from working and support my kids. I even have a college degree.

I really wasn't trying to be rude. I was trying to tell you it can be done. Sometimes you just gotta cut ties and move on. My daughters father has never seen her. Why make him pay? So one day down the road he can have "rights" to her because he's been paying me for so many years. Yea I think not. He can stay the smurf away from us. He's not just gonna be a father when he feels he is ready to. Not fair to me and certainly not fair to our child.

I would work if I could. Do you think I WANT to live on 700 dollars of month? I'll never be able to live on my own and be completely independent. If I could do anything BUT be on disability, I would in a heartbeat.

I was in the top 5% of my class, I had a free ride to college, I supported myself and had my own place before I was legal to drink working as an accounts management agent for AT&T. Judge me all you want, but I'm not just hoping the free-ride bandwagon.

Eh. Honestly, I know you don't like me. We've butted heads way too much for that to not be the case. You can think that about me if you want, and I'll admit, I don't take situations as gracefully or practically as most women do. But I still think you're pretty cool.

I mean, that's awesome. It's great what you're doing and how you're making everything work.
But she was asking a question about how the system worked, not making excuses. Why would you be so quick to jump on her when you know yourself how hard it is? Why not say what you said in your other post, about trying to show her it can be done?
