What would you do w/this dining room?

posted 1st Oct
I finally got my dining room table and chairs in after waiting so long (just werent on the priority list) and now that I have them I'm ready to start focusing on this room next. Kind of at a stand still though. Don't have much of a good idea what to do with the back wall aside from the sconces. What would you do with the space?

(The play kitchen is sitting aside with other toys in that room to go to goodwill so, it's not staying lol)

And those chairs.. not really comfy. Def gonna need some good seat cushions if anyone knows of any. I really want the focus color in this room to be red and/or bronze.

I feel like it needs a big mirror on that wall. And maybe paint that wall a bold color?

And smurf my camera is making that room look all wonky. I used a laser leveler to put those sconces up so they are definitely straight, bah!

A mirror would be nice and a touch of red would be great.

It has A LOT of potential! I would also put up a painting like the op said. Maybe a buffet table? How big is it?

I'd paint the walls a red color.. Add some family pictures & vines.

That's what I was thinking, like an accent wall. I would also do a big picture gallery (tons of ideas on pinterest). Or giant sized scrabble letters that spelled out my families name but they were connected (kinda confusing lol).

I think a mirror would look nice too but I wonder if it'd be a faux pas? Because I have this mirror set up facing right across from that wall in the entryway hall

I wondered if anyone would think it's "too much" mirror?

That room is hella cool. Anything bronze would definately work in the room.

It's about 16 feet long I think?

Accent color sounds good but I'd love a pattern. Perhaps wall paper. Although I'm scared to put up wallpaper with a pattern due to the high smurfup factor   (Unless anyone has experience with that and can give tips)

I like the mirror idea. I would also get rid of the rug, it doesn't look like it goes well with the table and chairs.

I agree with the suggestions of a mirror or artwork. Maybe some drapes on the window and placemats on the table to bring more color in the room.
