Am I understanding this correct?

On the second bullet where it talks about already having a NYS DMV photo document. http://www.dmv.ny.gov/forms/id44.pdf

I finally found a link where it tells me the documents I need. Now, does it mean that I can get a permit with just going with my NYS ID and social security card? I just really don't want to get my hopes up and want to be 100% sure.

And this brings me to my next question, would they take my SSC if it was scribble scrabbled? My son wrote on it with a pen when he was smaller and I just never got it replaced. I don't think I have enough time to get a new one before I go to get the permit.

I take it that if you have an ID already, you just have to provide it. I would take your SS card just in case.

That just how they score each document. You need a total of 6, some documents are just 1 point, while others can be 4. In order to get and ID, permit, or license you need those 6 points.

idk about your SSC. i'd get an order for a new one in, but try to go with the current one you have.
