I've had a couple Starbucks drinks too. I just get smaller ones and don't drink them often. A little caffeine here and there won't hurt

Once every now and then isn't going to matter. I tried avoiding caffeine because I thought it caused my last miscarriage because I was going crazy. But so much smurf has caffeine in it.

With DD, I ate chocolate and drank tea all the time, studies have been rather inconclusive and they limit the intake out of precaution. If you're paranoid, keep it to once a week.

This is the first caffeinated beverage I've had since I found out, and I probably won't drink another for awhile. I've had a hell of a time staying awake for my shifts. I just needed a boost.

Yep I didn't have any for the first few weeks either. It's rough though! Staying up all night had become almost impossible. I am switching to day shift though hopefully tonight will be my last night.

Did you get that new job you were talking about?

I haven't heard back from them. I'm looking to transfer within the hospital network. I can do that after 6 months of service and thar's 2 days away. After the night I had the other night, I'm done. They needed 2 beds in the ICU, so they sent me 2 ICU patients. One of them had a trach, an NG tube, a peg tube, a JP drain, a PICC, a catheter and a Flexiseal and was trying to pull her lines. The other was second day post CABG and still had his chest tubes. We never get trachs or chest tubes on my unit, so I was losr. Plus, I had a patient who was receiving blood and went into fluid overload, and another patient whose sugars dropped then skyrocketed. I wanted to cry thar night. I should have had the ICU patients and that's it.

Yeah my hospital would never pull that! That is so unsafe   I'm glad you and your patients made it through!!

Do you know where you want to transfer to?

We have that 6 month rule too and after 6 months I may see about L&D or ED. Although our hospital is really close to the women's prison so all the pregnant prisoners deliver there. That would be sad I think :/

We get a lot of prisoners on our unit, since we're close to the jail. I'm going to see about transferring to L&D. There is a weekend premium position available. Either that or Peds. I have my heart set on NICU, though.

I KNOW!!! Hang in there, mama. This is it! We'll get our healthy babies this time! *Hugs*

I'm so emotional right now. Seeing so many people get pregnant or being far along and it makes me so mad (at myself) and so sad... I want another baby to grow and feel and hold, breastfeed again (and make it work this time) and watch them grow with DD. ugh.. Emotions suck.
