is it normal or should I have her evaluated

My 4 year old has been acting out of character here lately. My landlord came by to get rent yesterday and my daughter asked me if I could tell her to leave. Her uncle came over and spent the night and it took her a minute to even come out of her room to even say hi. She said she didn't want him to hurt her. He's never even raised his voice at her...her and my dh went to my mothers (where we previously lived) and this 17 year old who is always there, was there and she loves him. She was hiding behind dh because she was scared. On the way home she asked her dh what he would do if someone came in our house with a gun.... All of this isn't like her. She loves people. Should I get her evaluated?

Has she watched anything on TV that could've scared her? I would definitely try to talk to her and see what's going on.

I would talk to her. I'd be concerned that something has happened to her, if she's that terrified of someone hurting her out of the blue.

Is it possible that some one has hurt her?

Maybe she seen something on tv. My daughter was freaked out bcus she said the news said vampires come out at night

She don't really watch anything but Dora and my big big friend. She hasn't been around anyone that would hurt her and im always with her. We asked her if anyone has ever hurt her and she says no and we asked if she would tell us and she said yes. Idk what's going on. But im concerned

I fail to see how that's acting out when she is legitimately scared. :-\

I don't think she needs to be evaluated. She could have seen a show or movie, or even heard someone talking about something that scared her. I would just talk to her and ask her what has made her scared. Ask her if anyone has hurt her or tried to hurt her.

Acting out does not only mean bad behavior

That is what I mean acting out her fears

My dd was about 4-5 when she started doing this, she is now 10 and the same way. Nothing caused it. She just worries a lot and the Dr's at her evaluation said it was normal, some kids are just like that out of nowhere. My friends dd is just about to be 7 and started doing this too about 3 months ago.
