Does God play favorites?

FOR BELIEVERS ONLY.

Do you believe God plays favorites? Meaning he seems to bless / love some more than others? I honestly feel that way, hence why I'm not very religious. God always likes to smurf up my life while I see other people, not necessarily more religious or more deserving, get EVERYTHING in life ,as though God shines rainbows from their asses.

No. God gives us tests...sometimes things are going horrid but that is when you're tested. When things are good you tend to sort of forget the good things God gives you.

I think He allows some people to go through more trials than others. For what reason, I don't know.

:/ I ask myself this same question. I use to more than now but I don't think he necessarily plays favorites, like the chick said above me I do believe he lets some people go through more trials than others.

Not at all. Satan works to make non believers think they don't need god by giving them "everything". Our true test as believers is to be thankful for the blessings god has given us and not focus on the rest. That is how to truly be rewarded by god. But the real reward is waiting in eternal life with god. We don't need material possessions here. I know how hard it is to try not to focus on what everyone else has or what you don't have. But I find myself happier when I focus on what I do have.

I don't think it's God smurfing up your life, I think it's more of the devil that creates the negative stuff. God just allows some people to deal with more than others, not sure why. Test of faith maybe?

I always wondered why those who are cruel, theives, liars, etc seems like they get away with everything. Then I realised the devil was helping them along, and they are weak. They will get theirs one day.

I listen to k-love every morning and a guy called in today and said he had everything. A mansion. Fancy cars. More money than he knew what to do with. But he wasn't close to his family. He said they were so distant yet they lived in the same house. During the economy crash he lost it all and he said he had never been so grateful in his life. He was able to see that god has better riches for him. He got his family back and that was the real thing mattered more than material possessions.

This makes so much sense!   I agree with you here. The devil makes it seem like everything is good when you do bad things and get rewarded in life. I guess the ones who obey and run through smurf may seem like they aren't rewarded but in the long run they will be, when he comes back to take us with him we will be somewhere beautiful while the other guys ROT!

I'm not even talking about material possessions, but things like:

More friends
Prettier looks
That job you ALWAYS wanted but got overlooked
A great partner
Beautiful child

Not necessarily wealth.

I agree with you!! It sickens me sometimes. I know a specific person who is just nasty nasty nasty all around!! She is evil I swear LOL..and never gets caught..I try my best to be nice, respectful, do the right thing and I feel like I cant catch a break sometimes

If it were perfect for all of us it would get boring... Yes i'd love to have the perfect marriage, yes i'd love to be prettier and be able to pull skinny jeans off, yes i'd love to have more friends and i would kill to have a job period haha but thats just how life is. I guess the way to look at it is be grateful god has given us what we do have. I have a healthy son, a roof over my head, clothes on my back and food in muh belly. I don't know. Like I said, I'm sure those people who are pretty dont think they are, there are people who don't acknowledge that they have amazing friends and they don't feel blessed when they have their dream job. No one is ever fully grateful and I think that is what is wrong with all of us.

I think a lot of people seem to forget there's a Satan, who loves to see people in misery. So if it's anyone that has favorites it would be him. My life was horrible as a child and I still kept my faith actually being the only one in my household... my life is amazing now so it would be a test of fate. If I could handle that I could definitely handle anything or the better things to come and I have. There are people who get everything in life and still don't appreciate it but, do you notice that when it's just taken away they're the worse ones when falling... because they can't handle it now. There's a huge game involved with who gets who's soul and it's really easy to give into temptations or want everything now and right now. Satan will give it to you but for a HUGE price and consequences later as in God who will give it to you when you truly need it and not when you think you deserve it but there is no back fall\afterwards. If you read the Bible, you can see that all his apostles were rich (tons of flock, many wives, tons of children, gold, jewels, huge amount of land etc.) because they never lost faith or doubted him.

Not at all. We are ourselves our gods and we all came here on our own missions. Some souls will have what we consider more blessing while others may have very little but at the same time everything always balances out and because I believe in reincarnation we will have every kind of experience. This life is just one blink of an eye on the journey to forever. The creator does not decide what kind of lives we will live and not only that I believe the creator is a part of us and us a part of the creator which also leads me to believe God experiences every pain and joy we experience. I believe we all exist as one.
