re: Does God play favorites?

Hence why I feel God plays favorites. Seriously, what makes one person more deserving of love and happiness than another?

I'm 27 years old and didn't find that love and happiness until last year. My mother didn't find it till she was in her mid 30s.

You'll find it, sooner or later you'll find it. And when you do, it won't be God's fault or the devils fault... it'll be part of life.

I don't believe God or the devil really actively do much in our lives, though I could be wrong, I think they just sit on the sidelines more than anything... cheering us on or heckling us down...

Oh, but twenty-seven is still young! Many people are just settling down and having their first child at that age. Mid thirties...yes, a little later, but still young. And I find that most people, at least on BG, seem to find their mates very early in life (like teens to early twenties). But then again, BG isn't really representative of the world.

Exactly. Because he knows they will always be loyal to him. They will be faithful through thick and thin. Some people say a relationship with god is much like that of a spouse. Always faithful. I'm trying to remember who it was in the bible but someone had always been given the short stick but still remained faithful. many people in the bible encountered tough times yet still held their faithfulness to god. Even Jesus. He coul have been bitter when his best friend and disciple Paul betrayed him yet he forgave him. He did not blame god for not having good friends.

Exactly. Monks and nuns do not have children or spouses and have a very great life in their eyes. They focus on their relationship with god and their mission in life.

The majority of marriages on BG aren't all that great!

basically God gives him one hardship after another to prove that Job won't question Him. Seriously, he loses his house, his health, his kids all die and his wife leaves him and he is in sever pain ....and then he questions God and God gets all pissy with him.

I've not read that book in a long time, I refuse to because I hate it so much....

I don't think it's a "true story" so much as a fable told. But he was proving that Job was a good one who never questioned God's plan and all....

God ended up blessing him with a new family and a new home later on, and his house was rebuilt even better...

I just hate how mean God seems in it. Though God doesn't really inflect him, it's more he allows him to be afflicted by satan or something... I don't remember exactly.

The Bishop keeps yelling at me since I won't read Job or Revelations....
