Those are still material things. None of them lead to true happiness. I have to always remind my fiancé of this. He gets so discouraged about no being able to find a good job. He gets upset hen he sees others getting promoted or getting good jobs with benefits with no education. He's busting his ass to finish his masters degree and feels worthless. I have to keep reminding him that he is blessed. He does have a wonderful rewarding job even I he doesn't get paid as much or get benefits. God is providing him with what he wants him to do right now and it's Stan who is making him jealous of others fortunes. I keep telling him god has a plan and obviously right now his plan is not for him to work where he wants to. He has work for him right where he's at and he needs to quit hiding behind jealousy to reveal his true worth at his current job and find his sense of belonging and purposefulness.

No one gets away with anything. The sower always becomes the reaper at some point. As for the devil I believe the devil is not a real being but something created by us in order to find someone else to blame for our actions.

Yeah, but are your friends, SO, and child material things?

Exactly. We all have our own issues. And each of us is pretty in our own way. I don't think I'm pretty sometimes but SO loves me so I must be attractive. Just because every guy in the world doesn't think Im Hot doesnt mean I'm not pretty. Or the people we think are perfect have their own imperfections that we dont about.

Those are still worldly possessions. Start looking for the good in your own life and thank for those things. When you start to thank God for what you do have things start to look up

I wouldn't consider a child or a loving partner and great friends to be "material/worldly possessions."

I believe the concept of reward and punishment is a big illusion. Our lives here have much less to with belief systems but is more about growing spiritually which even atheists do. God does not care about beliefs or theology.

I don't believe he plays favorites, but if he did then it would be the other way around.... he makes his "favorites" have harder lives because he trusts they are stronger.


But no, I don't believe he plays favorites...

I think that He has favored people but He doesn't, as a rule. I know many DEVOUT Christians who have it pretty rough and I know many non believers who are "blessed" beyond belief.

Everyone has their lot in life. The true "test" is what you do with what you have...and who you thank for it.

I don't think it is the devil that creates negative stuff. I think there the yin and yang when it comes to living in the physical reality which is ultimately not real. I believe in spirit before we are born we choose our own missions some of which will not be pleasant but in the spirit state there is no fear of anything because in spirit we know we can never be harmed. Upon being born into the flesh we forget who we really are in order to truly experience our lives here. In the end the only thing that is real is love.

I think finding a great lover, having a child, and etc. are possessions because you want them...Not everyone has had a good love and others have and that's a blessing because it's hard to find a great guy... as for children same thing. There are women who beg to have children and can't when that's all they want and others can even when they don't appreciate they're children.
