The U.S. has no problem with sending an eighteen year old to go get blown to smithereens, but the country is perfectly okay with jailing someone for enjoying some beer. It is very ass backwards.

i see what she means, but idk how better to explain it either.... i guess it's like, why does committing a certain crime make you an "adult" in the eyes of the law, but you're not yet an actual "adult" in the eyes of the law.....?

I mean, if anyone did some basic reading as to why these people are tried as an adult, it would make sense.

But should a child be tried as an adult when their brains are nowhere near being fully developed according to doctors and psychologists?

Yes. Because whether you are 15 or 25 a murder still results in a dead person.

I'm already aware of that. If you're going to try to convince me that an older teenager doesn't know that killing is wrong, you're going to be sitting here for awhile. I won't budge on that. Now if we were talking about a 13 or 14 year old then yes being tried as an adult is not right IMO.

Even if it is a ten year old? A ten year recently killed a newborn, but again, a ten year old's mind is nowhere to full maturity.

Not to mention....most records are wiped clean when a person turns 18. Therefore, if a 16 year old committed a murder, and was tried as a juvenile, that murder would be off the records in 2 years. No matter how horrible the crime.
That is why they are tried as an adult. So they can't just have their record wiped clean
