Quoting melissa_83:" formula fed babies should poop at the minimum once a day--most poop like 2-4 times. Breastfed babies ... [snip!] ... poop is normal so dont worry about that. If your switching between formula and breast milk that is known to constipate babies."formula fed babies can go 72 hours without pooping before its considered constipation unless they are showing signs of pain or discomfort.
Quoting Jennybananna:" formula fed babies can go 72 hours without pooping before its considered constipation unless they are showing signs of pain or discomfort."yeah they can go up to 72 hours but....its probably not best if your child is consistantly pooping once every three days. you also want to look for things like the baby not passing gas or liquid stool coming out. That may be an indication of his intestines having a blockage somewhere. Hard round balls of poop should also be reported to his ped. Id just call in the AM and run your concerns by him for the best advice. Bowel habits are not the same for everyone. Each person has their own normal.

Thats why I asked the OP if there were any other things going on the would signal something not normal happening.
