Pumping at work? How to make it work??

posted 1st Oct
I really want to breast feed, but I also have to go back to work after the 6 weeks. It's a retail job and I get a 15 minute break every two hours, sometimes every three. And if I'm there 6 hours I also get an hour lunch. How on earth would pumping fit into the 15 minutes? Doesn't it take longer than that?

I got extended breaks because my boss was very understanding, so maybe try to work something out? I could get 6-8 oz in 10-15 mins.

make sure to have a good double pump. Doing it one at a time will be harder.

I normally set up, pumped, and cleaned up within 10-12 minutes.
And that is with a Medela Pump In Style.

I always pumped one at a time, my breasts responded better that way.

Never in my life have i gotten more than 4 ounces at a time.

OP, have you talked to your boss about it?

I nursed on demand and ended up with an oversupply

When I did mine one at a time, it would always trigger the other breast and so much milk would get wasted because I didn't have another pump there to catch it.
