Travel System?

posted 1st Oct
So my little girl is going to be here in December...and I keep going back and forth on getting a travel system or not. I mean I want to go for walks with her, and I plan on getting both a stroller and a car seat *duh* anyway...but I'm trying to decide if it's worth getting the set or if I should just get them separately?
I mean it's not like I'm going to be taking an infant out for walks in the middle of December...but I could still use it to go to the store and the mall or whatever when my boyfriend and I go...but I won't be able to use it like I want until probably April or May because Washington weather is EVIL! haha And I really don't like umbrella strollers...I think they're cheap and fall apart super fast (my sister has had 3 in as many years, with almost no use).

HELP! haha

I love strollers. I have my first daughters travel system stroller. Then I got a modular stroller that the car seat could work with when we had our second and now im looking into getting a lightweight stroller for quick trips. Big difference in lightweight stroller vs. $20 umbrella stroller special. At 8 months old I still use the infant carrier a lot so being able to hook it into my stroller is helpful.

might as well get one if you're going to buy a stroller anyway. it's cheaper to get a set than to buy them separately. my baby is coming in december and i'm getting a travel system

I have always had a travel system. Great thing about the is you can still use the stroller when the baby is grown out oh the cat seat. For trips to the mall they work awesome better then putting the car seat in the cart. I think they are worth the money. I only use a umbrella now for when I'm quickly going into the store and don't want a cart as I don't want to lug in and out the bigger stroke. But use the stroller for our walks in our neighborhood.

Travel systems suck. The stroller is big and clunky.
Get a convertible carseat and baby-wear. That's the most cost effective method since you can use a convertible until the baby is 50 lbs.

That's what I plan on doing for the next one.

When you put the baby in a carrier and literally wear them on you.

I got a travel system with my first and regretted it. It was a waste of money. I live in Oregon and with the majority of our streets where I live not paved the four wheel stroller was useless. Also my daughter out grew her car seat before she was even six months old. I would just go for a convertible seat and stroller separate from the get go and save the money. We need up doing this with out second child and it worked out great.
