Shooting dogs just because they're strays is animal cruelty. If cops in your area are doing that, they need to be reported. Including your husband.

That is what I am saying. It isn't for people to go around shooting dogs. Obviously the dog has NEVER been trained that is why it is a little jerk. We live in a civilized society where we have such things as the humane society and animal control. They will put the dog down if determined to be a biter. Which things don't sound too good for this dog. Spay and neuter your pets people!!

...so he should know what he's doing is animal cruelty and he KNOWS to call animal control. Flexing your badge a bit too much if you ask me.

Eh, my husband got pepper sprayed to certify to carry pepper spray for his job. I will tell you...I spent most of my night putting cold rags on his face because it burned him so bad. That stuff doesnt go away after a few minutes. Now my husband has to do it again when he goes to Special Operation Response Team (SORT) academy next month.
On another note....I will be honest, if the dog didnt warrant getting sprayed, your SO could face aggravated animal cruelty charges if someone were to turn him in.

There aren't any animal shelters up here. We live in a remote fly in reserve...Like I posted earlier, once a month, the band brings in people from down south to shoot stray dogs. This one is a stray, and will be shot by next month, I'm sure.

Your SO is a cop means nothing. My husband is a corrections officer in a prison. Doesnt make him untouchable. I just hope this dog needed to be sprayed as in he was a danger to the community or you. Otherwise, he should have called animal control.

Ive had to once. I know it was needed *bit me and almost went after my LO who was only 8 months at the time* but I still felt bad about it. Not awesome.....

No matter, but I still wouldn't go around acting all proud of your SO for commiting animal cruelty. Hopefully someone saw and turns his ass in.

Stray dog doesnt constitute spraying them with pepper spray. If he was a decent cop, he would have fostered the dog til he could find a home for it.
