i guess i didnt really think about that. my DH didnt get to cut the cord...and i didnt see her get weighed or footprints. i saw her for 10secs when they pulled her out then i didnt see her for an hour because i had to stay in recovery. DH got to go with her though. i stayed pretty drugged that first night because of the pain. but again i didnt choose the c section

I've had 2 c-sections and a vaginal birth. All were successful, went well, and the recovery was normal. I HATED the c-sections though. Particularly the 2nd one as I was older and more active (I had my first when I was very young and didn't have as much of a life going yet other than school) and getting back into the swing of things after the c-sections was near impossible. After my vaginal birth I felt amazing, I only needed a tylenol for a little soreness after it for a day and I felt great after it. I figure I'll have one more child, we plan to get the IUD out in November once I get to talk to my doctor about my epilepsy meds more and stuff and we're gonna try in November/December. Hopefully I'll have my 2nd VBA2C.

I have been having terrible panic attacks too! I wonder if that is normal with c-section patients? They get really bad and come on for absolutely no reasoning. They still have no clue what is wrong with me. It sounds like you are having a terrible time and I hope you get better soon! C-Sections are definitely not a walk in the park. I feel like I was gluten for a punishment for having to have one.

Same here. The anetheseologist was a family friend so she told me she would keep me awake unless I seemed to not be handling it well after the baby came out and then she would knock me out, but she ended up not needing to. I saw her for a few seconds and I was shaking so bad and having some issues that they took her away with my husband..I didn't see the birth weight, the foot prints, or anything....and I didn't see her again until I was out of recovery and back in my birthing room. Everyone else had a lot of time with her before me. Not that I wouldn't want them to, but it was def different than my vaginal birth when I could hold her right away and see everything that was being done.

Just a question....has anyone who has had to have c-sections ever had issues with keeping food in after eating? I have dropped 18 lbs since I had my daughter on the 16th because every time I eat, I have diarrhea really bad within an hour or less. I have not been able to eat one meal since the surgery and hold it in. I can drink till my heart's content but food I cannot do. They have not figure it out yet but I am dropping weight and getting weaker by the day. Wondered if anyone else ever experienced this.

well good luck i hope it all works out for you! i didnt have many problems with the c section other then the first week or so was hell for me with the pain and all. i guess i fear that since i had no issues or complications with the c section then i probably would with vaginal...or that i would go through all the pain and contractions again and still end with c section. what about sex after vaginal birth...i mean if you have to be sown up....i hear it takes awhile to go back to normal. the first time i had sex after the c section it hurt but the next time was fine.
