working out while pregnant

posted 1st Oct
This is my 4th pregnancy.well 5th but first ended in miscarriage. This is the first time ive actually really wanted to not eat everything in sight, stay physically fit and active. I want to know if its ok to continue a regular fitness routine your first trimester. Right now i do 45 min taebo 15 min treadmill 6 days a week and light jogs 20 mina day with my kids 4 days a wk. Also, what kind of workouts are best for 2nd and third trimester? My goal is to keep my weight gain below 20 pds this time. I now weigh 163. Im 5'2 so thats overweight for me so dont need to gain too much. I eat healthy90% of the time also.im a month a long.

You can still do some work outs pregnant, but that's something that you have to discuss with your doctor. They will take a lot of things into consideration.

Its crazy how this will be my 4th child and im still learning new things:-).I have my first apt on oct 8th. I eat well 1800-2000 daily now and ive lost 3 pds from last wk actually which is ok since This isnt my natural weight.my natural weight is 128-134.I have extra body fat to lose. I just need to gain weight for the baby not extra fat all over my body.I was 170,200,202 at births of last three kids.I put on 50-60pds each pregnancy due to overeating and not workin out.

You should be fine. As long as there isn't issues from it. Untill a few weeks ago I was still running 9-10 miles a day and biking 20+miles a day. I was fine but due to other things went into preterm labor and now on rest! It sucks.

my SIL was a big workout fanatic before she got pregnant. Her OB recommended sticking to her regular routine, but not to add any new exercises.

hell to the naw you cant do that type of workout w/o putting the baby at risk. You can lift weights but not too heavy and..Op for a maternity workout video. Also you can go for light jogs and work-outs w/the least amount of stress on the abdominal area as possible but when you get to second trimester bring it down to a speed walk and light weights@ trimester 3 a regular walk....Also working out in a pool is great during the whole pregnancy. so try it too...good luck
