He hasn't talked to x since my fil and mil split last year because x took fil's side in the divorce. So, I don't think either way they would be talking any time soon.

This! It says something about "X's" character to sleep with his friend's wife. Who says he won't do the same to you?

The truth hurts. but he deserves to know. what you did was wrong and selfish and i don't have to be married to know it. if you're unhappy, leave. don't go behind his back. you're suppose to be able to trust the person you marry. like i said if you're unhappy leave. cheating is wrong. no matter the reasoning.

Just an update. I talked to my husband and we decided to separate, but stay married for a few reasons. The two main ones being his BAH and my health insurance. We are still going to live with eachother until I find another place and we will be doing joint custody so I can have some time alone.

I spoke with my therapist a few times the past couple days and have had a realization. I might not be marriage material. I may be mistress material. She had me write down (with no names) the past relationships I have been in. As I stated before, my husband was the only person even close to my age that I have seen. I have slept with, including X, 3 married men that are twice my age. The rest were un-married, but also almost twice my age.

I like older men. I am attracted to 50 year old men in positions of power. It's my type. I like being the subordinate in a relationship and I like the sneaking around. I like being bought gifts and being persued. I like that either of us could break it off with no regrets.

I like the thrill and adrenaline of doing something you aren't supposed to do: sleeping with married men, having sex in semi-public, persuing an affair, being with someone who is seemingly unavailable.

X and I have talked on the phone a few times since that night. We are going to continue how we are. We are going out this weekend in another town where no one knows either of us. He bought plane tickets so we can go on vacation next month. Separate flights so that no one knows.

I do get thrills other ways. I sky dive, free climb (rock climbing without ropes), bareback ride, bungee jump, and I have travelled to one of the most dangerous countries for single women. I'm an adrenaline junkie and having an affair is an adrenaline producing situation.

I'm not going to make excuses for my behavior, but I don't see myself changing any time soon. Maybe I'll finally settle down when I hit 40 and my looks start to fade.

Anyway, if you are knowingly sleeping with married men, well no good will come to you. I'm sorry but it won't. I'm not talking about karma but I do believe when people are rotten to the core they will one day pay for their lifetime of bad decisions. You'll likely end up all alone.

I don't know whats worse, that her husband is a pos cheater or that his mistress gets a thrill out of her hurt.

Who said I get a thrill out of her hurt? The thrill comes from the risk of getting caught. X also moved out before I slept with him.

I'm fine with being alone. I'm happiest when I'm by myself or with just my animals.

And, 40 was just an arbitrary number I threw out there.
