how long?

posted 1st Oct
So far i've had 3 different midwives and seen 2 different GP's whilst i've been pregnant. I'm 33 weeks and 1 day pregnant and all the people who care for me have told me different times as to when i should go into L+D if I should be concerned. One said, if you feel no movement after 24 hours to go in, another said after 3 hours of tryng to get her to move, another said, straight away when you notice, and another said don't go in unless your instincts tell you too, mother's instincts are best :/ Can you tell me when you've been told to go in if you do become concerned about your baby's movements? i am so confused about it and dont really know what to do if i do start to get worried. Just wondering what other people have been told. Thanks

I was told to go in if my LOs movements dropped rapidly. She used to kick and move around in there literally all day, so I wasnt too concerned. But if you notice that they arent moving around as much, try drinking some orange juice first- thats what doctors give you to get babys moving. If that doesnt work, I'd probably call just to be safe. I think they should move 3 times an hour for it to be okay? I could be totally wrong though. lol

That sounds abit more realistic lol, im sure my midwives dont have a clue what there talking about, they hesitate before they say something like there not sure what to say, my baby moves like mad anyway and doesnt stop, the longest she stops for is an hour at the most (except at night, she seems to move all night lol) thanks for replying   x

i would just say...if it drops pretty dramatically for what's typical of her.

there are kick counts. google the right way to do them...i never had to lol.

but always..better safe than sorry so if you feel the need to go in, go in.

Like previous posters said, fetal kick counts and if there is a dramatic decresase in movement. And as always, trust your instinct...if your wrong at least you got checked out

f I notice he hasn't been kicking a lot, I drink cold water or juice and lie down... 10 kicks an hour. If not I think then is when you should be concerned.
