My labor with DD wasn't that bad then I started going into active labor and opted for the epidural. I had never been informed that there is a chance of the epidural not working right. I thought you just got it and that was that no more pain. Don't let anyones stories about their labor and delivery freak you out because like many have said its not the same for everyone... It does hurt and it does suck but you just have to keep reminding yourself that noone has ever been in labor forever. The pain is only temporary. and no matter how you labor or whether you have to have a csection in the end you will have a beautiful baby in your arms. Also remember that even if you make a birth plan alot of the time there will be things that need to change.
