see now you just described my whole experience right there. They hit me with a gas mask and it was lights out. The Dr. told me later that they did get him out and the cord was still pulsing . I forgot to ask what that was about.

um .... that doesn't sound right. This story is getting stranger and stranger by the min. and something isn't adding up. did you have bleeding during your pregnancy? With preterm labor? either you have the smurffest doctor ever or you didn't understand them correctly because there is no way you would have spinal anesthesia for any of this. this would have been general with a betadine splash. I've heard of them doing betadine splash crash c-sections in a labor room for this sort of stuff.

I never had GD, but they suspected a big baby so they didn't want to induce. I talked my OB into it because my son was almost 9lbs. Afterwards she said "this is why I never induce large babies"... she even told me that they are not allowed to induce for fear of a large baby. And since I didn't have GD, they couldn't. But because I'd been having contractions consistantly since 28-ish weeks, she told me to go in on her shift and she'd use the contractions and week overdue status as a reason to induce me.

I said they couldn't give me spinal anesthesia... that's why I said I was glad I took the epi when I did. that's why I was able to feel it.
I know my OB has only been practicing for about 5 years.

actually it would decrease the likelihood of a prolapse and if they checked you and felt the placenta you would have immediatly started bleeding heavily. the placenta is IMPLANTED it doesn't get forced down along the cord

yeah the cord was still pulsing when they got him out. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm assuming it's a good thing. Mind you this was said to me probably 10 -12 hours later so I may have my facts mixed up. I was medicated BIG time.

sometimes with a prolapse cord the cord can start drying and cut off oxygen to the baby so apparently they did it fast enough

no I just had the catheter and the iv in my hand from where the drip was hooked. They came in and gave me the needles as well as needles for blood cloths in my legs. I remember those needles hurting the worst .

Did you already have an IV in? What do you mean for blood clots in your legs?
