No matter what the cause, the smell would still be disgusting. Like I said, I love her as a person, but now that she is unable to even bathe properly, she always smells terrible and that is what disgusts me, the smell that even permeated my newborn after she would hold him

Quoting I'm His Amy He's My Rory:" Her inability to care for herself though is due to her weight."

and her weight is caused by her inability to care for herself.

The actual fat doesnt' disgust me. but.. honestly, the lack of discipline, lack of caring enough about their health, their life, their ability to be active and do normal things does.

an obese mother.. who can't run around and play with her kids, yes, it disgusts me. An obese mother at an all you can eat buffet, with her kids, teaching them to follow suit.. putting her kids and family at risk, being a poor example for her family... that does disgust me.

just seeing an obese person.. no.

but.. obesity costs our healthcare system billions, and it's a bad cycle. I also feel like obesity says a lot about your personality, your character traits.

Or obesity could say a lot about your parents....

which is why I said it's a cycle.

but... it only says something about your parents up to a point. At some point.. people have to take responsibility for their own actions.

Nope. Maybe if they weighed like 600 lbs then yeah. But your average fatty does not disgust me. I am fat, and I do no disgust myself either, and find it sad when women do.

I dont LOVE being fat. I never wanted to be fat. I would rather look like I did in my teens and early-mid 20's, given the choice. But i feel great. I like myself. I am comfortable in my own skin and know who I am as a woman. I like the person inside the body. I have had more a few men find me beautiful, my body has blessed me with childbirth, my body has served to create intimacy between myself and the men in my life who have been my lovers and i like what i see in the mirror, simply for being me.

I hate seeing huge toddlers and otherwise large kids. I am big & as a teen blew up from meds. I'm ed-nos & it messed my head up. I lost a lot of weight, and feel disgusting still. I admit i am judgemental in my head, never outloud. I dislike that in me.

you DO have a choice. You choose to leave your body the way it is.

Obesity... puts you at risk for MANY health problems. It puts stress on ALL your joints. When you have surgery.. it causes increase cost to the hospital, increased work and PAIN for the nurses.. and increased wait time for assistance for anything that has to do with movement, transfers etc.

You are given the choice to live a better lifestyle and to look like you did in your mid 20's. There's NO excuse to stay overweight no matter the circumstances.

I want to clarify that "overweight" is not the same as obese. and overweight does not disgust me. Most women struggle with weight... but letting it get to the point of obesity.. that's when it disgusts me.

Obesity disgusts me, but being overweight doesn't.

I eat a lot better and get far more physical activity than I did when I was thin.

I used to eat like a truck driver and never did much physical activity because I worked full-time outside the home then.

Now I really only have an appetite for about one meal and one snack a day, and get out for walks and jogs a few times out of the week.

I am fine with who I am, regardless of size.
And there are plenty of people who have health issues far worse than I ever will, who may not be as overweight as I am. I feel better than many younger girls in their 20's that are not overweight.

Okay. That's great you're healthy. I am not overweight or obese and I have a lot of hereditary health issues. It sucks.

My Husband had a perfect body, really fit, he didnt eat a good diet but he was a work-out buff, he had major health issues. Diabetes, bad joints, kidney problems, tons of stuff. Just his genetics.

A lot fo the women in my fasmily tend to start off slender and gradually put on weight. I need to join a gym, thats the only way I am going to get the pounds off and kept off. I keep saying I am going to but end up not wanting to do the drive (i live out in a somewhat country-ish area). I lost tons of weight after I started packing it on when I lived around the corner from a gym, lol.
I do enjoy my walks and jogs but it is not enough. I could do more.

But anyways, I really only find it disgusting when someone is inhaling sacks of Mcdonalds and junk food and eats enough for an army, and cant perform normal every day activity. Outside of that, I really dont judge anyone.

You don't need to go to a gym, seriously! I workout without the gym. I do dvd workouts and use the outdoors to my advantage and I have lost weight successfully.
I know a lot of people who look great, but their health is lacking.
