Halloween is the one day out of the year that you can be what you want and that what makes it awesome!

People are dumb.

Halloween is a MAJOR holiday for Wiccans and Pagans, and has NOTHING to do with "the devil". Oh, and Wiccans and Pagans dont even believe in a devil, or buy into the hell concept.

The history of Samhein (The proper name for the holiday), is very spiritual and honors passed on loved ones spirits.

Of course, some religions think anything that is not of THEIR religion is evil, and many ignorantly think Wiccans and Pagans are evil.

pagans worship the devil!!!   I'm kidding but I swear my father believes that. I tried to explain that the devil doesn't even exist in pagan religion but my dad just says that "they don't know they are worshiping the devil".

 

The only religion that my father is afraid of is paganism, I think. And it's because my sister is wiccan and I was pagan for several years. It's such a beautiful religion...

But Pagans ARE evil. What kind of person would want to love the earth? It's either God, or gtfo.

Idk about you guys, but in our household, we break out the Ouija boards and douse ourselves in lamb blood come Halloween time.

Yup that is real issue religious extremists who keep the hate about pagans alive with myths of pagans worshiping the devil. Innocent pagans were killed for those myths. The extremists pass on their believes to the next generation thus the hate will continue. Sad, but true.

Halloween is one of my favorites especially now that we have kids. We go to the zoo boo dressed up as a theme (hippies this year) as a family.

Yeah it's usually the extreme Christians who spread the hate around. This history with Christianity and Paganism has always been filled with blood, with the pagans on the loosing end. I'm Wicca myself and did a lot of research into the history of paganism it's interesting to me.

Oh yeah the zoo boo is a lot of fun. Our toddler loves watching animals eat pumpkins and this year we get to take our two month old too.

I have Wicca, and pagans friends being a Christian myself... I like to see the different beliefs of other people learn something new than shutting them down. Just not everyone is an open minded Christian like I am -hint- puff puff pass... I have a problem with people bashing others for their beliefs and that's where the hatred comes. Although I believe in a God I do believe we are all connected as one including with nature and that is why we should all care for each other and our earth. So to say one holiday is evil because you believe in it is very discriminating... goodness just thinking about painting my belly into a pumpkin is so exciting!! lol

I'm so tired of Christian Extremist telling me I'm going to hell because I choose to intake something natural which has many benefits. It doesn't even become about truth and love just judgement and harsh opinions.

Paganism is awesome - I studied it when I was illustrating a book on Faeries and wanted to get my facts right about them - I haven't come across anything bad about Paganism and certainly not in the way that you find such awful things about Christianity. Pagans seem to be accepting and love to have sex and worship each other! Ha! I'm not religious but I have always said if I had to pick a religion it would be Pagan.
If it wasn't for Paganism we wouldn't have Christmas either!

You sound a lot like my husband, I call him a "laid back Christian." ;) The extremists make Christianity sound like a horrible religion when it's really just the actions of a group of people within the religion. Every religion has that problem lol.
