re: Halloween is evil

SO and i both LOOOOOVE halloween! it's our favorite  

a girl in my CNA class the other day was going on and on about how it's "evil" though.

Both Halloween and The Day of the Dead (November 1) are awesome days for me... Halloween is more an American tradition that is just finding it's way here, but I love dressing up, love pumpkins and the spooky season.... and on November 1st we go to the cementary and decorate the graves (this year we be decorating my MIL's grave) and we have a picnic there.

We have one, too. I just went there the other day looking for a Marilyn Monroe get up since that's my character for the murder mystery dinner next weekend. I freaking love them!

Even when I visit my MIL's grave we take a picnic and even talk to her as though she was eating with us... everyone does that here.

Yeah. I can't say I wouldn't be pissed getting a brochure though. I always hated the people that gave apples or homemade stuff my mom wouldn't let me eat, and brochures would be worse.

I remember getting cans of soda and popcorn balls.

There was a guy when I was little that used to invite all the neighborhood kids in to watch a movie, and give the parents beer. My mom never let me go in, he was too creepy.

I had a next door neighbor that used to give out halloween knee socks stuffed with candy.
One year I got a whole bag of beanie babies. She was the smurf.

Ahh I didn't know they did that in other Latin American countries. I thought it was a thing Mexican people did.

That Hello Kitty Avi decorated like that is something they do for Day Of The Dead, actually that is most likely where they got the idea. You know those decorated skulls, it isn't just a fashion trend. It has to do with Day Of The Dead (Dia De Los Muertos)

I was raised in a Christian home and we didn't ignore the holiday, my parents never looked at it as evil. It's always been my favorite holiday and I enjoy everything that goes along with it (costumes, candy, etc)...I even got married on Halloween! Lol. I don't think of it as evil...just the people who worship the devil on that particular day (or any day lol).

I went to one elderly woman's house one year. She gave us happy birthday bags with a pencil and coupons. Worse Halloween gift ever. lol

I love Halloween! I had a landlady in Hawaii that was very religious and her church thought Halloween was the devil's holiday. She invited me to their hallelujah party on Halloween night were everyone dresses as angels to show Satan they won't give into his temptations. Haha needless to say, I Turned down her offer
