if I don't punish my kids..

posted 30th Sep
what kind of adults will they turn into?

i was punished all the time as a kid and for that reason i shut my mom out and allowed myself to be loved by men and ended up with 6 kids.. so is punishing really all that effective?

They'll turn into children that have no sense of right/wrong or boundaries. They would be the people I would never want my child around

If you are punished for every single thing yah that can be destructive to your child. But not punishing them for anything and letting them run wild could also have bad consequences.

You need to find a happy medium.

I was constantly punished as a teenager, and ended up rebelling and turning out pretty bad.

I was also raised with morals and manners, so I turned out pretty good.

Kids need punishment, to show them that in real life there are consequences and boundaries.

We personally don't use punishments as a form of discipline, same with rewards or bribes.

They will turn into over indulgent, entitled, egotistical brats. With no sense of right and wrong and lacking boundaries.

Yes. You should have boundaries but you don't need punishments to enforce them or to teach your child right from wrong.

There is a HUGE difference between discipline and punishment.

I don't punish my children, but they have been disciplined.

Discipline is ineffective without consequences. Punishments are consequences.
