Spitting

How do I get my 3 year old to stop spitting? I am about fed up, and no I won't smack him in his face!! Thanks

When I get a child like that is prek we use the special spot strategy. So well say you can only spit in th toilet or sink or garbage (or wherever u choose). When u catch them doing it say "you can't Spit here but u can spit in the _____". Just keep reinforcing it and it will get old for them soon enough.

try popping his hand when he does it and tell himthat it's bad.
i'm having the same problem and with my 3 yr old but I think he does it because my husband has bad reflux and spits and he see's him do it.

I cant remember what I did to make my daughter stop doing this...if I can remember right I think I just kept telling her not to do that...I hope you find something soon!

Repetition, time-out, taking toys/privilege.

My son spit on a stranger at Walmart whe she got in his face (why people think they have to get 3 inches from him to comment on his cuteness, I dunno. I'd have thought about spitting on her if i were 3 too  

He lost his trains for a day and I put back all the fun things I had planned to buy (for a fun project) after he sat staring at a wall for 3 minutes in a corner of the end of an aisle.

He still occasionally spits at my dog, but hasn't at a human since!

Mine is 15 months and started spitting too. Idk where he got it from? It sucks.

I keep telling him not to do it but he won't stop!!! I am getting so freaking irrattated with it because he is spitting on his siblings. I would never smack him in his face or spank bc of it but I am running out of options. My mom said put soap in his mouth but I can't do it

I am not sure popping his hand is going to stop spitting plus I choose not to hit

Uggh I have tried time out, taking things and such but he wont stop. I thought he had stopped but then started right back up. He spit on his dad tonight  

Just to add he does have a speech problem so he gets frustrated a lot so I don't know if that contributes to it because he is pissed and can't tell me.
