That's the point. This came from a debate I had with someone IRL just now, and I REALLY want to know the general consensus of this.

50/50 money is NOT a factor in custody cases.

because I'm biased, so I would naturally say they should live with their mom.

This isn't a real life situation...and I'm assuming the parents had boys AND girls. Since both parents are fit, that's the only solution I have.

The mom then. She's the mom and she's not abusing them...

Simply because she's the mother?

Based on the limited info I guess I'll say Mom only because Dad has more money to pay child support. I think Dad should still get a few days a week though.

I'm not saying he wouldn't get joint custody. I'm purely asking who you think would provide the best environment for a child.

Mom with dad getting visitation.

While I understand that she isn't there all the time, the dad isn't either. The step-mother is NOT the mother. So while it's nice and all that she's available, it's not the same.

I realize that, I wasn't saying anything about joint custody in that post. My vote is for Mom.

It's almost impossible to choose just one, and considering they separated amicably, this would appear to be an ideal situation for joint custody.

That being said, the OP says to choose just one parent, so in that case I would choose the mother over the father, granted the father still has access to the children on weekends and holidays.

So you're saying that the mother has something the father can't give the children, then?
