My son is on the Autism spectrum and there's waay more to it than throwing tantrums. All kids throw tantrums, I don't know of a kid that doesn't/hasn't. Some are just worse than others.

I completely agree with this.

I agree with this. My youngest is 11 months. He just started throwing temper tantrums. I watched his 2 year old brother take a toy away from him and my baby went haywire. DS3 grabbed DS2 hair, bit him, and screamed like he was trying to murder him. I think that might win as the most colorful tantrum I've seen between the boys.

Babies and kids don't know how to control their emotions. What they're feeling is how they act. If you act angry or aggressive at all when they're going nuts, it only makes things worse. (Not that it sounds like you are)

I normally start with ignoring whatever it is they're doing unless it's not safe for them to be doing what they're doing. By not safe, i mean going to hurt themselves by throwing themselves down on the floor. If it's a store or a park, you take them away from the situation. Sometimes a lot of activity can make little kids overwhelmed and they act out. Make sure the baby isn't over tired. Naps are very important.

If it gets to the point where they are so worked up that they can't calm down, I would take him to a quieter room and hold him or sing a song. Those types of tantrums are pretty rare and normally happen when they're overtired/hungry or both of those.

It's not rare with my son lol it's almost every day all day. I have made an appt for him on Friday to see his doctor to see if it's not something like an ear infection because this just started happening. I may also have him tested but I will try to stay calm when it happens. I try to stay calm for the most part but it just gets hard. However, today he has done well so maybe it's nothing too serious.

Well we're all human and if someone is yelling in our face and biting/hitting us, our normal reaction isn't 'That's ok hunny'. It's just something we have to work at. We forgive ourselves when we get worked up right along with them and just promise ourselves we'll get better at it. Hopefully the dr has some answers for you. Babies need to come with translators.

Instructions would be nice lol it's been a tough ride with my son ever since he has been born. He had colic till he was like 6 months so he would scream and cry a lot even then and now he's teething and having tantrums. It's so hard to tell if hes in pain or just having a fit. I'd rather the doctor take a look first to rule out anything medical and then maybe get a referral to a behavioral center. I just want to rule everything out and if something is wrong get help!

I'm curious as to what your Dr. says. To me, it sounds like testing boundries and normal toddler tantrums. My 16 month old is has always been "sassy" and sometimes plain mean and recently has taken to tantrums over any and everything. The word "no" sends her into a tailspin. I think it's normal..

Yea it's just hell scream at the top of his lungs, honestly, if someone was walking by they would think he is being beat. That's how he acts. But yea I think he is testing me, he also wants to be held all the time and he NEVER wants to sleep. He may take 2 15 min naps during the day and then wont sleep at all during the night or if he does maybe for 2 hours. I have NO IDEA how to get him to sleep. The doctor said he is okay that maybe he learned how to get what he wants. I am trying to just let him scream?cry it out but it seems like he wont give up. Hell do it for hours without stopping.
