3 people other than me call my boys "my babies". 1 is my bff whom has been in the boys lives, almost daily, since they were born... That doesn't bother me at all. Her & her mom bend over backwards for them. The other two are my mom & my SOs mom.. Both who are smurf to the boys. That bothers me.

Mom does it all the time. She tells EVERYONE DD is hers. I don't know if I'm just self-conscious about it because I live with her or if it's normal, but it makes me feel awful and pissed at the same time.

drives me nuts. my MIL does it, and I correct her every time. Ever since I had DS, she now calls me"mom" also, which is smurfing annoying. DD is 6, so it's not like I'm a new mom...

My parents do all the time. It doesn't bother me because they are so active in Diva's life even though there's thousands of miles away. They always ask her "How's Nana/Papa's baby doing or how's my baby girl", but I think it doesn't bother me because everyone knows she's their granddaughter.

Not for me.

But for some crazy distant family member of my brother in law...She always calls my nephew her nephew. Which....he definitely isn't. She's a compulsive liar and has even posted photos, pretending my nephew is hers.

When I was pregnant my grandpa would refer to dd as his baby. Pissed me off lol. I didn't say anything coz I had only met the man 5 years prior (family stuff prevented it until then) but it made me uncomfortable. Now he always jokes about taking her home and I laugh coz they can't handle dd!

OMG yes! my monther-in-law did that! pissed me off to no end! finally i told my husband to talk to her otherwise she wont get to see my daughter! she had also pissed me off while i was in labor at the hosptal though! she would eat chocolate muffins ain front of me, and alot of other rediculous things!!!! Like after my daughter was born, i had a c-section, my husband was holding her, i was just getting over the drugs they pumped in me and i couldnt see straight, so he was holding her. anyways she asked to holder and got PISSED off because he said no, because i havent gotten to hold her yet. but the absolute worst was when the nurse on duty thought i was some stupid teen mom (i was 23, married for 4 years, and baby was planned) and my DD was a bit cold so instead of skin to skin like its supposed to be she whispers over to my MIL and gives my baby to her!!!! i ask whats going on the nurse said "Dont worry your baby is a bit low temp, I am giving her to your mom" my MIL told me not to worry that shes got it, and REFUSED to let me hold her!!!!!!!! hubby came back from his smoke break hearing me yell and cuss his mom and the nurse out!
