my ex's mom had my spawn calling her Mama... the woman was a loon though....

She kept enforcing to my daughter that she was actually her mom and she and my ex tried to kidnap Spawn!

I don't allow Spawn to call anyone mom except me and would correct anyone who did that only because of what happened with my ex.

My MIL has pulled the 'my babies' thing with mine and SIL's girls, until we put her in her place and made her cry   My mom calls them 'my girls' but it's not the same way that my MIL does, I dunno if that makes sense? My mom's is more like she's saying 'my grand-girls' because she shows boundries, but my Mil is actually really posseseive and pushy and really infers that they are her children.

Happened once with my oldest, I half joked "your baby huh? I could have sworn *I* was the one who pushed the 10.5 lb kid out of my vagina.."

THIS!!! exactly how it is with me !! My mom doesnt say it as if she is trying to claim them as hers. But the other people im referring to, do! I cant smurfing stand it

My sisters refer to my boys as, " my boys" in different contexts. I'd call my nieces, "my girls" it doesn't bother me because we're close and my boys are my boys, of course everyone knows I'm their mother and visa versa.
My cousins have so many pictures up on FB and in Instagram people ask if they have a little brother lol. Again, I think it's funny!
Also, my gram likes to show off my boys so she sends out pictures of my boys in her Christmas cards, with an update on the family. Not printed cards like you are referring to though.
Why dos it bother you so much? As long as she corrects them.

My crazy SIL calls my youngest DD hers. It pisses me off. First off she is a nut. She is always sharing my pictures of the girls and saying that they are her babies. I try as much as possible to stay away from her. I always worried that she would try and steal one of the girls. She cant have kids of her own and was a super bitch towards me when I got pregnant. So we keep our distance from her.

Same here. She raised DH's nephew for 2 years, and we keep have to reminding her she doesn't need to act that way with DS. my parents call DD their baby girl, but it isn't the same at all. They call DS their baby boy now, and it still is different than MIL. It's also sad that MIL has only seen DS a handful of times since he was born, and lives 5 min away, yet my parents live in NY (We're in AZ) and we skype 1-2 times a week so they can see the kids...

that is creepy! My BIL and his gf have been trying to get preggo for a few years now...they live in the ghetto and are in absolutely no position to have a kid, so thankfully they haven't gotten pregnant in all that time, but she was so upset when we said we were expecting after only trying for 1 month. I felt a bit bad, but they live in a tiny 1 bedroom dirt hole next to where people get shot and stabbed...and have absolutely 0 money. They should not be trying to have a kid.
