Finished Nursery

posted 30th Sep
When did you have your nursery finished?

I'm just about 32 weeks and all we have is our bassinet, wall decals, wall mural, ceiling sculpture, nuks, boppy, little boots, nuk clips and bath time stuff.

My MIL just sent us all of that this week from our registry, she's so awesome! But I feel like we need to get our butts moving on getting everything else and getting it ut together, ugh.

Also to add: we live 2,000+ miles away from both of our families, so we are not having a baby shower....we just did a Target registry and let our families know.

We'll probably put it together around Christmas. DS sleeps in our room in his bassinet, we'll be rooming in for a year.

I want to say she was 2ish months old. I know DD was almost a month old before I bought a crib.

Ha! MIL put it together during the three days we were in the hospital. In our defense, we had to move unexpectedly like three weeks beforehand into their house (the apartment we were going to rent was found to have black mold all over it).

My first daughter shared with me so I didn't have much setting up to do, just the crib mainly and organizing clothes.

But now she has her own room and this baby will have her own room, soooo much to do!

Our situations are similar. I did the same thing with the registry and no baby shower. I'm almost 30 weeks and the nursery is 90% complete. I just need to do some organizing and cleaning. Whatever else we receive is just extra stuff. We have plenty waiting for him at home. My hubs was home for like a month to put furniture and other stuff together.

I love organizing and I'm in nesting mode so I really want to get it done in the next few weeks. DH works 7 days a week, sometimes 12-15 hours a day, he's military so his only time off is at the end of rotation. I have every weekend off but there's only so much I can do at this point.

I'm itching to get everything done!

People say with your second it takes longer to get everything ready. I love nesting. I'm just starting to get into that phase. I've been able to focus mostly on getting ready for the baby. My husband works longer hours usually not that long. He is gone like two months then back two if we are lucky 3 months. When he comes back they always take him away for TDY's for a week-3weeks. Makes me mad cause I feel like they are taking my time. He wants to do 20 years of this   I'm not so sure that I do lol. It has been bothering me that me and the baby will be so far from everyone. It has been 3 years of living across the US and I just miss getting to see people more often. We miss out on everything, holidays, birthdays, etc.

Yeah I know what you mean. I grew up in the same town my entire life and I just moved in February to California from Wisconsin. I miss my family and friends   I don't know anyone out here except my coworkers, who I don't like, and DH's work buddies. My husband is still unsure if he wants to re-enlist spring 2014 or not, he's leaning towards another 9 years so he can retire from the military....it's smart but I can't imagine not being able to settle down somewhere long term, for another almost 11 years.
