Would it be overbearing..?

My husband and I recently befriended a very quiet couple at our church. They moved to our area in eastern CT about a year and a half ago from upstate NY & have no family or close friends out here. I asked them how they felt about visitors when their son was born and she seemed iffy on it. Well their baby boy was born today and I was thinking of dropping off flowers and a card tomorrow and just having one of the nurses bring it in to them.
I'm a rather reserved person myself and I always seem to over think how I interact with other people- so now I'm second guessing the whole idea because I don't want them to think we're being pushy or overbearing.
If you didn't want visitors wound someone sending you something rub you the wrong way?

I don't know. I mean if you already asked them and they weren't sure, I'd call first or wait till they were home.

If your just dropping it off and not going into the room I don't see why not or maybe just give them to them after they get home

not overbearing at all i think its very nice and will be appreciated.i would probley do candy or a stuffed animal because flowers die and will be thrown out i always seen them as a waste unless its a potted plant.

I would get them delivered by a florist before I would have them catch me lurking in the halls.
