Labor Questions

i am 39 weeks and 6 days and I have been having back pain and my thighs hurt all the time.. I had a ultrasound the other day and it said that she was head down and ready to come out...(When she decides that is) My question is could the thigh pain and back aches be a sign that labor will start soon??? Has any one else experienced this before there labor started???

I had back, hip and thigh pain that would come in waves when I went into labor with my second. I didn't realize they were contractions until I decided to time the waves.

Happened to me too! I have a yoga ball (birthing ball? Same thing..) that I sit on to bounce & rock & it helped. When I got the hip/thigh & back pain I started walking to see if it was false labor & an hour later I was admitted to the hospital (; see if walking will bring on contractions or time the waves..good luck!

I will have to try that I have had the back pain for like 5 days.. The dr said that i was 1 cm.. but the thigh pain just started today..

It helped me so much! Even know, I'm 36 weeks, when my back hurts I sit on it..sometimes for hours lol. Its also good for loosening you up & can help you to dilate more & baby to drop lower. I'm buying one for the hospital this time! Supposedly getting on your hands & knees & swaying your hips back & forth will help progress you too..but I haven't tried that one
